Playing guide
Magnio is played sideways. Cradle the phone with both hands, screen upright and facing you: the thumb of the hand you write with rests on the screen and plays, the other thumb owns the edge controls. Choose the other hand and the whole instrument turns with you — you simply flip the phone half a turn.
Wake your note
Touch the screen with your playing thumb and linger a moment. Sound is born from nothing — hold it, and it breathes.
Space is your keyboard
Keep the note singing and tilt the phone up and down. Tilting up brightens the notes, tilting down lowers them; when the horizon sits level, you're home.
Push to intensify
While your note sings, push the phone left or right around its center. The sound swells and brightens; come back, and it falls to a whisper.
Bend like a guitar string
Keep your thumb down and flick it quickly left or right — the note touches its neighbour and springs back.
A responsive instrument
Choose a voice, tune the bend and gain response, then calibrate the center to your own grip.
Catch the Vibe
Tap Vibe and Magnio listens to nearby music, finds its scale, and tunes itself to join in. The analysis stays on your device.
Build a pulse
Add bass, arpeggio, and percussion layers. Hold any layer button to open its own pattern page and shape the groove without leaving the instrument.
Set your stage
Arrange the edge controls the way you play, pick your instrument, and ride the sweep gesture through a modulation such as wah — expression keeps shaping the level underneath.
Record what you play
One tap records Magnio itself — its own sound, never the microphone or the room. Recordings are listed in the app; rename, play, share, or delete them.
