There is no sound

Open Out and choose Audio . Use Apple's route button to select the iPhone speaker, headphones, or another audio route, then check the system volume.

The motion feels unfamiliar

Hold the phone sideways in your natural playing position — both hands, screen upright and facing you — then open Calibrate and set that position as the center. The guided grip lesson in the same menu walks through touch, tilt, push and flick one gesture at a time.

The screen turned upside down when I switched hands

That is intentional. Magnio locks the screen to the grip of the hand you chose, so switching hands means physically turning the phone half a turn in landscape. Once the words read straight, your grip is set — and the keyboard, share sheet and system prompts arrive facing you too. The hand is chosen in Calibrate > Grip lesson .

Where do my recordings go?

The round button at the end of the top row records what Magnio itself plays — never the microphone, never the room. Recordings are named by date and kept in Magnio's own folder; press and hold the same button to open the list and play, rename, share or delete them. On iOS they are also visible under Files > On My iPhone > Magnio . While a recording is running the button only stops it.

Vibe cannot listen

Open iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and allow Magnio. Microphone access is used only when you tap Vibe .

Use Local MIDI on the same iPhone

Open the receiving music app and select Magnio as its MIDI input. Return to Magnio, open Out , and choose Local . The receiving app stays in the background while Magnio remains in front for playing.

Connect USB MIDI to a Mac

Connect the iPhone by cable. On the Mac, open Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup, select the iPhone, and enable it. Then choose USB in Magnio.

Connect with BLE MIDI

Choose BLE under Out and follow Magnio's on-screen Mac or iPad guide.

Mac: open Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup, show MIDI Studio, open Bluetooth Configuration, and connect to Magnio.

iPad: open the receiving music app's BLE MIDI settings and connect to Magnio there.

Is Magnio really free?

Yes. Every sound, gesture, scale, pattern, recording feature, and MIDI route is available from first launch. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no paywalls, and no ads.
